Motaware Developer Terms
Version 1 · Effective October 9, 2026 · Motaware LLC
These terms apply when you use Motaware for Developers (developer.motaware.com): the console, Sign in with Motaware, and any Motaware APIs or API keys we offer ("the Platform"). They apply on top of the Motaware Terms of Service that cover your Motaware Account. By accepting them in the console, you agree to them for yourself and for any organization you register apps for.
1. Who can use the Platform
You need a Motaware Account with a verified email address, and you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. You are responsible for everything done with your projects, clients, secrets and keys.
2. Your app's responsibilities
- Privacy policy. Publish a privacy policy that explains what data your app gets from Motaware and how you use it, and link it on your client.
- Ask only for what you need. Request only the scopes your app actually uses, and use the data only for the purpose you told people about.
- Keep secrets secret. Store client secrets and API keys on servers you control, never in browser or app code, and replace them at once if they leak.
- Respect people's choices. When someone removes your app's access or asks you to delete their data, stop using it and delete it within 30 days, unless the law requires you to keep it.
- No selling. Don't sell, rent or share data you get through the Platform with data brokers or advertising networks, and don't use it to build profiles of people across services.
- Be honest. Don't pretend to be Motaware or to be endorsed by Motaware, and don't use "Motaware" in your app's name. Follow the branding rules.
- Be secure and lawful. Protect the data you hold with reasonable security, tell us promptly about a breach that affects Motaware users, and follow the laws that apply to you.
3. What you may not do
- Collect Motaware passwords or sign-in codes, or put Motaware's sign-in page inside a frame or embedded web view.
- Get around rate limits, reviews or user limits, or use several projects to do so.
- Use the Platform for spam, malware, phishing or harassment, or for anything that harms Motaware or its users.
- Probe, scan or test the Platform's security without our written permission. Report security issues to help@motaware.com.
4. Review, suspension and removal
We may review your app at any time, and must approve it before it can use app-data scopes. We may limit, suspend or remove a client, key or project, and revoke its tokens, if we believe it breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or harms the Platform. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
5. Rate limits and changes to the Platform
The Platform is currently free. Fair-use rate limits apply, and we may change them. We may change, add or retire features and APIs. For a breaking change to a published API we will try to give reasonable notice.
6. No warranty
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted service.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Motaware LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim about the Platform is limited to US$100.
8. Ending
You can stop using the Platform at any time by deleting your projects. We may end these terms or your access as described in section 4. Sections 2 (data you already received), 6 and 7 continue to apply after the terms end.
9. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms in a meaningful way, we publish a new version with a new number. The console then asks you to accept it before you continue.
